Welcome to Cyprus Modern Art. My name is Harry Karayiannis and I would like
to thank you for visiting my website. I have been collecting artwork
for over twenty years now, and through a painstaking effort, long
time and quite a lot of money I managed to put together a sizeable
collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics and
engravings.
As you will see, when you will tour the site, the collection
consists of works by traditional established as well as young and
upcoming Cypriot artists.
I am always looking for the forerunners in their field and the theme
of the collection is the modern and the subversive.
My aim is not only to give financial and moral support to young
artists but also to provide, to cur younger generation, the
opportunity to watch and appreciate art, hoping that cur students of
today will be inspired and become the artists of tomorrow.
Unfortunately the only way to see the whole collection at the moment
is through the internet. The lack of large exhibition halls and
galleries in Larnaca, prevents me to share these magnificent
artworks with you.
The good news is that recently we have been lending some of the
works to private collections, schools, hotels, libraries and
theatres. The demand has been encouraging.
So as you can see, we don’t only provide expert art-consulting
services to private and corporate collectors but we are willing to
accept anyone’s advice and suggestions.
