Hatzigeorgiou
She was born in Famagusta and grew up in Nicosia where she lives and
work as an art professor since 1975 in Gymnasiums and high School.
She studied from 1969 - 1974 at Athens School of Fine Art, under the
guidance of teachers such as Yiannis Moralli, Nicos Nicolaou,
Dimitri Mytara and the know art historian Pantelis Prevelakis ets.
Awards: In 1991 she got the “Gold Medal” at Triennial in New Delhi,
India from 38 countries, with two works out of six of which she
participated, on the subject “Eco-Anxiety”, She represented Cyprus
at several biennials (1985 biennale of Paris, 1995 Biennale of
Alexandria, etc.) In 1992 she represented Cyprus in international
eco-symposium “Earth-Sign-Earth” in Gustrow, Germany.
With a documentary, created by RIK
and directed by Andrew Pavlidis, she represented Cyprus in the green
series “The right to hope,” which was screened in 50 countries
members of the ecological organization, in which Cyprus also
belongs. She has organized many solo exhibitions in Cyprus and other
countries.
